Cardiac Monitors/ Defibrillators ($74,500)

This year SBGHC has a need to replace the Cardiac Monitors, Defibrillators/ Pacers within the hospital. Patients experiencing cardiac problems; heart beating too fast, heart beating to slow this life saving equipment is needed for monitoring the patient and delivering lifesaving electrical shock to the heart in the event of a cardiac arrest.

The Cardiac Monitors are found in the Emergency Department, Inpatient unit, Specialty Clinic and the Operating room; they are also used when a patient is transferred to another hospital for ongoing care and management. Our present equipment is 10 years old and no longer able to be repaired if they should require.

Ultrasound Replacement Machine - 2016

Ultrasound Machine

We were able to purchase The Ultrasound Machine with the help of our fundraiser through Boston Pizza. Our past Ultrasound machine was at the "end of its life" and if we did not upgrade the technology this year we would have risked not having ultrasound services availalbe in Kincardine.

Thanks to your community support, we are able to retain this service in Kincardine.

We thank you for your continued support!

The Ultrasound Probe Disinfection System - 2016Ultrasound Probe Disinfection System

The Ultrasound Probe Disinfection System is placed close to the new ultrasound system and provides high level probe disinfection in just several minutes. With this new unit you can rest easy knowing that the probes are properly and completely cleaned.Thank you for your support!

Stress Test Machine

A stress test, sometimes called a treadmill test or exercise test, helps your doctor find out how well your heart handles its workload. As your body works harder during the test, it requires more fuel and your heart has to pump more blood. The test can show if there’s a lack of blood supply through the arteries that go to the heart. Taking a stress test also helps your doctor know the kind and level of physical activity that’s right for you.

Gel Pads for Operating Room

The new Gel Pads will help in positioning and keep patients comfortable during operations.

Automated Drug Medication Carts

Automated Drug Medication Carts will be used to dispense medication with individually labeled bar code packaging and labeled bar code at the bedside.  This requires scanning for an EXACT match before medication is disbursed to patient. Cost of the Carts is approximately $50,000.00 each which includes the lines and soft ware. Three (3) carts were needed for the Kincardine Hospital. Having this piece of equipment would reduce errors to almost NIL.  It has CPOE - Computer Patient Order Entry which is virtually fool proof.  This equipment will be BIG for Kincardine with the safest and best patient outcome. We thank you for your support on this state of the art equipment!  This equipment has been paid for and we are now in the process of setting up this equipment!  Thank you!

With your assistance we can enhance our community's health care services ... one gift at a time.
