Rock with Your Docs raises $42,000
Campaign committee announces it will become an annual event
June’s ‘Rock with Your Docs’ fundraising concert raised more than $42,000 for the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation’s Building Heath Care for Generations hospital redevelopment fundraising campaign.
The electrifying concert at the Davidson Centre was the official kick-off to the capital campaign to raise $12 million for the first phase of the Kincardine hospital redevelopment.
Three popular bands - Crazymaker, Lulu’s Roadhouse Band and Kincardine’s own health care rock stars, Local Anesthesia – drew in hundreds of supporters. The grand prize of $10,000 was won by Wayne Sullivan; the $5,000 second prize winner was Betty McDonald; and the $1,000 third prize went to Jeff Caron.
“After two long years of missing out on the community events that Kincardine is known for, we couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the hospital redevelopment campaign than to bring the community together for a night of fantastic live music and dancing,” said Dr. Jason Murray, a Kincardine physician and member of the KCHCF Capital Campaign Committee (and Local Anesthesia). “We had such a great night of music, dancing and raising funds for a much-needed hospital expansion and revitalization project that will benefit the entire community for generations to come.”
The foundation’s Capital Campaign Committee is excited to announce Rock with Your Docs will be an annual event. Next year’s party will happen on Sat., June 17.
The foundation’s Capital Campaign Committee aims to raise $12 million, which will pay for the local share of South Bruce Grey Health Centre’s $65 million Phase 1 Redevelopment Project to revitalize and enlarge critical areas of the Kincardine hospital, as well as meet ongoing medical equipment needs.
