Rock with Your Docs returns June 17
Second annual concert will raise funds for Kincardine hospital expansion
The second annual ‘Rock with Your Docs’ fundraiser for the revitalization of the Kincardine hospital will be held Saturday, June 17.
Local Anesthesia, a band that features local doctors and nurses, will open the show at the Davidson Centre, followed by local favourites Boiler Beach Band, Crazymaker, and headliner Lulu’s Roadhouse Band. Doors open at 4 p.m., with the show starting at 6 p.m.
The concert, which is being hosted by the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation’s Building Health Care for Generations capital campaign committee, will feature dinner, a live auction and cash bar. Age of majority only.
“After the success of our first Rock with Your Docs concert last year, we had no doubt we’d be returning in 2023,” said Dr. Jason Murray, a physician at the Kincardine hospital and member of Local Anesthesia. “We look forward to seeing the whole community at this fun evening of music and friends, all for the great cause of revitalizing the Kincardine hospital.”
The Building Health Care for Generations capital fundraising campaign seeks to raise $12 million+ to revitalize the Kincardine hospital, modernize and expand the emergency department, improve diagnostic imaging, strengthen outpatient laboratory services while improving the patient registration and other common areas. This fundraising effort includes the recently opened CT Scanner and the upcoming MRI project.
“This important investment in our local hospital is desperately needed to meet the demands of our growing community,” Foundation President Becky Fair said. “The expanded hospital with modern technologies will allow our highly qualified medical staff to better serve local patient needs with improvements that will lead to more efficient and timely care.”
Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the Kincardine Chamber of Commerce Home & Garden Expo, the Hawthorne Community Clinic, the Kincardine Davidson Centre, the Foundation office at the Kincardine hospital, and online at Eventbrite. Tickets are also available at local businesses, including McKechnie Pharmacy, The Bruce Steakhouse, Hawg's Breath, Grey Matter Beer Company, and MicroAge basics.
